Energy & ETS

Although not yet the new currency of business, carbon has truly moved out of the green scene and its reduction now represents a mainstream agenda. This is particularly relevant in the built environment sector, (especially social housing) where its reach ranges from construction industry impacts to human behavioural change.

Alongside the requirements of the carbon reduction agenda sit two more related drivers:

  • The need to become more energy efficient
  • The need to have a more sustainable energy mix (renewables)

Stradia helps Clients to make the business case for investment projects involving carbon reduction and energy, plus ETS, including helping with strategic thinking around key issues such as:

  • CRC strategy
  • Carbon Footprinting and Calculation Carbon Management Plans
  • Using decarbonisation to drive local economic strategy
  • Using renewable energy investment to drive local economies and reduce fuel poverty
  • Future proofing revenue streams against impacts of rising energy prices and fuel poverty on rental income
  • Preparing for the impact and opportunities of the Green Deal

Once the strategy is agreed we can assist with project delivery - our services include:

  • Securing funding, via finance routes such as CESP, RHI, ERDF, JESSICA, ECO and FITs, on or off balance sheets
  • Optimising the technology mix, especially in renewable and community energy, from Solar PV/Thermal, through Biomass and Heat Pumps, to District Heating
  • Achieving best value installation prices and maintenance deals
  • Understanding and achieving energy-efficiency standards and accreditation, EPCs, DECs and SAP ratings
  • Undertaking LED replacement (Domestic, Commercial, Communal and Street Lighting)

A number of these options also apply beyond the social housing sector. For example, RHI is also available for corporate and community buildings (including multi-occupancy blocks). We can advise on the full range of options available.
