Commission brief:
Optimising CESP finance to undertake area wide energy efficiency and carbon reduction retrofit on existing stock. In addition, Stradia were asked to identify and secure additional funding to optimise investment in retrofit for energy efficiency in order to develop a ‘Green Deal Pilot’ for the organisation.

Summary

Stradia were engaged by Liverpool Housing Trust (LHT) to optimise CESP funding across it’s housing stock. Stradia worked with LHT to negotiate with a number of energy companies before securing significant funding to undertake an area wide solid wall (and other measures) CESP scheme.

In addition, Stradia also assisted LHT in applications for other external funding streams, enabling a strategic retrofit programme to commence. So far, over £1 million of external funding has been secured for the retrofit programme.

Stradia are continuing to work with LHT in an attempt to secure further funding to enable wider works and to develop a programme for the optimisation of FiT, RHI and Green Deal moving forward. The project involves stakeholder consultation as well as negotiation with energy companies and other funding providers.

The project is further complicated by the allocation of ERDF, limiting the flexibility with which a programme can be delivered.

Stradia has navigated this complicated and sensitive landscape to assist LHT in optimising the opportunity for funding and, as a result, enabling a significant increase in the amount of work that is being carried out.

Achievements

Stradia secured funding for LHT and enabled a contractor to be appointed. The project has now become the starting point for all other retrofit investment considerations for the client.

What the client says

“Stradia have been indispensable in assisting us in our retrofit programme. They have helped us secure significant funding, guiding us through the process, managing stakeholders and helping everyone to focus on delivery in a practical and professional manner.

We now see Stradia as an integral and trusted partner and we hope to continue to work with Stradia in this and other development projects, going forward.”
